We know for a fact that Paul Dachton, Randy Kramer, Carl Lohrer, and a fourth subscriber who wishes to remain anonymous have NOT received their sheep trophies from hunts with Rice as of December 15, 2014.
Carl Lohrer tells us "I never got my sheep and never will. Todd has not made any attempt to make it right."
Paul Dachton has copied us on a number of emails regarding his complaint against Rice before the SCI Ethics Committee. He tells us Rice is now claiming he had nothing to do with Dachton's second sheep, which is still missing, a claim disputed by the guide Dachton actually hunted with.
We have also been copied on emails indicating that two non-subscribers were able to get their trophies by making additional payments (over and above their agreed-on fees) to third parties in Mexico. One of these payments totaled $4,300. We don't have a figure on the other. We have asked those two hunters to file reports on their experience.
We also heard from that same source that one US hunter who paid a very large additional sum has not received his trophy as of this writing.
Continuing subscribers will remember our coverage of Rice in our May, June and August 2014 issues. This material is current online for anyone to view at http://www.huntingreport.com/images2/pdf/Special_Controversy_Todd_Rice_and_Sonoran_Outfitters_July_2014.pdf. We will continue to add material to this file as it becomes available.
We would also remind anyone considering a hunt with Rice that he has been banned from exhibiting at The Sheep Show and the Grand Slam Club/Ovis' Grand Slam Convention. We were also told by Ben Carter of Dallas Safari Club that "Todd Rice will not be exhibiting at DSC as we did not invite him back."........(continued)
