The Rovos Rail is a luxury train with lines through Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Tanzania, and it is possible to ride from South Africa to Tanzania. Rovos also operates Rovos Air, an air charter service in South Africa. Our subscriber tells us:
"After our hunt we saw some of the sights in Namibia, including the famous Skeleton Coast. At the end of the trip we rode for several days on the Rovos Rail, which we had also done on a prior safari to South Africa. It is very easy to combine this with a hunting safari.
"The Rovos trains are excellent. You meet a lot of people on board, and the food is superior to many fine restaurants, with great wine and just about any liquor you could want. You must notify the railway ahead of time if you will be bringing a rifle on the train, but there is no issue. The Rovos experience is quite expensive, and I'm not sure if there is any discount for children, but it would make for an excellent family trip."
