Zambia Hunting Expeditions also hunts Mukungule GMA, Chifunda GMA and Bangwelu. Maier also hunted Mukungule, a four-hour drive from Shiwa. He says the Cape buffalo in the GMA were scarce, staying in North Luangwa Park due to poachers and lions tracking the herd. He reports seeing only one herd of buffalo in four days, although he managed to take a bull. At Shiwa he shot a sitatunga, which they hunt from highseats, plus bushbuck, waterbuck, and several other species. He also hunted sable at a game ranch in Mukushi. He gives Zambia Hunting Expeditions high praise and says that the colonial atmosphere at Shiwa imparts that feeling of traveling back in history. "It is a totally different experience," he says. "The hunting, the friendly and relaxed people, trophy quality, great food, and, especially, Charlie - it would be hard to find a better guide or individual."
