In January, an item appeared in the Kathmandu Post indicating that the leopard had been killed and positively identified and that the threat was now past. Then in April another item appeared in the same newspaper reporting that an infant had been killed by a leopard in that same region. Sadly, however, Rana also tells us that no progress has been made on allowing foreign hunters into the reserve to help deal with the problem, and he sees no hope in the immediate future. So all hunters channeling their inner Jim Corbett are going to have to wait. We'll keep you updated on any developments.
