Over in Uganda, I have news of a new world record Nile bushbuck. Christian Weth of Uganda Wildlife Safaris (Christian.firstname.lastname@example.org) sent me an excited email and photo of what he says may be the new number one of this species. The trophy field-scored 49 7/8 SCI. The current SCI number one measures 47 1/8. Even if the horns shrink more than 2 6/8 inches after the 60-day drying period, it should comfortably surpass the current number two of 45 6/8.
The bushbuck was shot by Hunting Report subscriber Lee Anderson, who booked the hunt through Safari Outfitters (307-587-5596). He hunted the Kafu Concession along the Mayanja River with Weth as his PH. You can see a photo of Anderson's bushbuck in our online Trophy Gallery.
