Keagy calls this "an excellent hunt in a beautiful area with abundant goats in prime condition. Absolutely the best goat hunt I am aware of. Totally fair chase in gorgeous country." He rates the outfitter's offerings as excellent across the board.
We haven't been able to contact Keagy for additional information but did hear from Alisha ("Mutts") Rosenbruch-Decker, who told us they were informed in advance of Keagy's mobility limitations and had formulated a plan they hoped would be successful. "It was still a bit of a miracle," she told us in a phone conversation. "We have one river drainage that offers pretty easy walking, and we saved it for Bob's hunt. I was guiding another hunter, while Zach was guiding Bob. It was the height of the rut, and that was a big help. We saw one group of goats with two nannies in season and several billies circling around. My hunter and I went after them. Another billy was with a nanny and for some reason left her and was headed toward the first group across the drainage. He passed close enough that Zach could call him in for a successful shot at 148 yards. Bob couldn't reach the kill site, but we skinned and quartered it and brought it out the next day.
