"Stan was going to put me on a B&C bull, but before I got to the lake a grizzly spooked him out of the area," he says. "We saw the grizzly where the bull had been as we flew out of camp. There were loads of moose, and I hunted only one lake. If you can ride, a horseback hunt might get you looks at even more moose. Unbelievable area, the most gorgeous country I've ever seen.
"Stan and his sons are passionate about hunting. They get the best guides because they're honest - sometimes brutally. They work their butts off for their hunters. They do not oversell the concession and you may well hunt an area that hasn't been touched in years."
At press time, Stan Lancaster told us that, prior to the SCI Convention, he had four moose hunts available for 2013. He wouldn't disclose dates or prices, but urged interested hunters to call him.
