Papapietro says he thinks Anders was also distracted by a would-be black "partner" who showed up in camp during his hunt. However, he blames the ultimate failure of his lion hunt on lack of preparation and what he says was Anders' lack of understanding of lion hunting.
In a rebuttal statement sent by Anders' wife Sheona, she says, "It is not our policy to engage in mud-slinging on a public forum, particularly where our valued guests are concerned. For this reason, we choose not to present provocative or accusatory evidence in retort and will therefore reserve our response to Mr. Papapietro's report on the public front for the time being." She invites anyone interested to contact her for evidence of their "good standing where this hunt is concerned."
