Zambia Hunting Concessions Up for Tender for 2013Published: November - 2012 Zambia is a country where hunting for 2013 and beyond is in question. That's because the Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA) (www.zawa.org.zm/) is preparing to reallocate hunting concessions. By the time you read this, tender documents should have been issued. Insiders tell me that ZAWA is proposing a change in area classifications, adding a "super prime" category that will most likely bring a "super" price tag as well. Speculation is that prices overall are set to increase in Zambia. A number of operators I have spoken with are nervous about losing their areas and asked that I withhold reporting on good hunts until after the tendering process is complete. Complicating matters is that the process may not be completed in time for the 2013 convention season.
