A number of Hunting Report subscribers have hunted with Lewis in the past, the latest of which was Glenn Vincent just this past May. He hunted lioness, buffalo and plains game and had this to say about Lewis: "My PH was very skilled, knowledgeable and experienced. The safety of his client was always his number one priority." Vincent hunted Chewore South and advises fellow subscribers that the concession holds so much dangerous game (lions, leopards, buffalo and elephant) that "shooting one of them in self defense is not that uncommon. Arrive at camp both physically and mentally prepared!"
Lewis is survived by his wife Robbie. The couple lost their ranch in the initial land seizures in Zimbabwe and had since lived on Lewis' salary and tips as a PH. To help his widow through this difficult period, Chifuti's representatives at Safari Classics Productions have created a memorial account in Lewis' name. A Safari Classics staff member will be traveling to Zimbabwe to personally deliver the funds to Robbie Lewis. For details on contributing, see our Email Extra Bulletin or contact Dave Fulson of Safari Classics Productions at 214-360-9599.
Our deepest condolences from all The Hunting Report staff to Robbie Lewis and the entire Chifuti Safaris and Safari Classics Production family. Barbara Crown, Editor.
