Van Rensburg has three elephant hunts still available for this season in NG43. They can be scheduled for selected openings between June and September. We have five reports on this area (Hunt Report IDs 8198, 7771, 7042, 4774, 6627), including the one from subscriber Peter Stein, who killed a 77-pound bull there last year.
John Barth of Adventure Unlimited (361-852-0537; safaris@trip.net or john@ausafari.com) still had access to three elephant permits as well, but the dates are for the second half of June and July, so contact him immediately if you are interested.
Also, Tharia Unwin of Johan Calitz Safaris (011-27-56-2131633; www.johancalitzsafaris.co.za/; tharia@calitzsafaris.com) had one elephant permit left at $36,900 for a 12-day hunt. She says you can expect a bull in the 59-pound range, but, again, you'll have to act fast, as the dates were for this month.
