Here at The Hunting Report, we were excited about the possibility of another hunting opportunity coming back on line for international hunters, and we ran the report expecting a follow-up report from McIntyre, as he had planned to check it out personally. That never happened. McIntyre says the plans with Hill just seemed to "fizzle out." Instead, our first hunter report on Hill's operation was from subscribers Dick and Sandy Fruchey, who left Belize very dissatisfied. We aired their report and Hill's rebuttal in the May 2011 issue. (See Hunt Report ID 8161.) The Frucheys found problems with every aspect of their hunt and Hill's operation from the accommodations and meals to the hunting licenses, vehicles, firearms and ammo provided, game availability, trophy prep and guiding. The Frucheys strongly questioned Hill's experience and ability to provide organized hunts to tourist hunters. Hill insisted he had the qualifications and ability and just needed to work out some bugs.
At the time we ran Frucheys' complaint, Hill was expecting more clients, and we waited to see who would send us reports on their experiences. Within weeks, John Chitwood and Don Hurst contacted us about their hunts. Neither offered a stellar report.
