Hooker hunted with PH Steve Robinson of Kuduland Safaris, through Philip Chollet of Karamoja Safaris. He confirms what Easter says about game numbers and quality. "My first afternoon there, I could have killed a 38- to 39-inch buffalo, but I wanted a scumcap." He shot an old, worn down bull on the seventh day of his hunt and also took a Jackson's hartebeest and a waterbuck. (See photos in our online Trophy Gallery.) His buffalo was so old, he says, its front teeth were worn down to the nerve. Like Easter, he reports seeing a buffalo over 50 inches and predicts that some huge bulls will be taken there in the coming years. He also saw numbers of lesser kudu, oribi, bush pig, warthog, hyenas and what he says was the largest elephant he has ever seen in the wild, with short but massive tusks. "I have seen big elephant in Kenya," he says, "and this was bigger than anything I'd seen there. In fact, I saw more game here than I have in many of the parks I have visited in Africa."
