Post-Season Report On Waterberg Plateau Hunting Concession In NamibiaPublished: February - 2010 In Namibia, we have a post-season hunting report on the Waterberg Plateau. Waterberg was one of those trophy concessions auctioned by the government last April after four years of being closed to hunting. Jofie Lamprecht of Hunters Namibia acquired the Waterberg Plateau National Park hunting concession, which promised to yield exceptional Cape buffalo, sable and roan. (See Article ID 2300.) Lamprecht says it did just that. He reports taking two new Namibia record trophies from Waterberg Plateau this season. One is a sable that he says should be the new Number 10 on the Namibian Top Ten of all time. The sable bull's horns measure 45-inches long with 9.2 inch bases for a combined SCI score of 108.4. The other exceptional trophy is a white rhino that Lamprecht says will rank as the new Number Three on the Namibian Top Ten of all time. It is a very old bull with only a front horn, which measures 26 inches and has a 29-inch base. Both trophies were taken by Hans Melchers, and you can see photos of them in the Trophy Gallery section of our web site. If you are interested in seeing more trophy quality game from Waterberg Plateau, Lamprecht has posted a slide show online at www. youtube.com/watch?v=WkOW TdnSgJ8....
