I apologize for implicating the SAVE Conservancy in this development. I have since been told by other sources that because local black Zimbabweans already benefit from the hunting programs there, partners have not been forced upon these operations. In fact, I've heard that the whole effort seems to have gone by the wayside.
In my bulletin I had warned hunters from the US who are hunting on any Zimbabwean conservancy that they should contact their operator for the names of any new partners that may have been forced on them only recently. It's still not a bad idea to do that. If they have taken on any partners, check those names against the Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) List issued by the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Controls, the agency that enforces economic sanctions programs for the US State Department. US citizens found to have conducted business in any way with individuals on this list could face hefty fines and possible jail time. You can find the latest list posted on our web site (www.hunting report.com) in the Reference Desk section........(continued)
