Latest On Big JumboPublished: June - 1999 Talk about an exciting safari! Seems a party of 10 clients in Botswana this year, hunting with Rann Hunting Safaris, have taken nine elephants weighing 91 pounds, 76 pounds, 63 pounds, 61 pounds, 60 pounds (two in all), 58 pounds, 55 pounds and 52 pounds. That's in addition to seven buffalo (one of which reportedly measured almost 45 inches), six leopards and three "excellent" lions. We have all this from one of the hunters, Steven C. Chancellor, who was out of town and unable to provide more details. We also could not reach Jeff Rann at any of the numbers we have for him. Suffice it to say, Chancellor's concluding comment is right on the money: "The Good Old Days in Africa are now - in Botswana!" We will have more details on this safari next month. In the meantime, to sweeten the pot of anticipation, we understand Rann has taken another jumbo that cracked 90 pounds. It may be as large as 94 pounds. Stay tuned.
