What is there to hunt in Trinidad? Carlson says the island is home to a population of brown brocket deer that are hunted by local hunting clubs. He discovered this while visiting a friend on the island and is putting together an exploratory hunt there this August. He says he has also been told the island offers feral pigs and javelina. Carlson says the island has never been commercially hunted. Guns will not be importable, so he will have shotguns available locally. Hunting licenses are available over the counter.
At this point, he says the August hunt is strictly to check things out. He has no idea what he will find or the quality of the animals available, but he promised to give us a report.
