One of Carlson's other clients also took what he says is the largest Asian water buffalo taken in that region in the last 30 years. The animal scores over 120 inches, which may not be as big as the buffalo taken in India years ago, but it is certainly huge as these animals go. Hunting Report subscriber Roger Card killed the big bull along with a Philippine forest buffalo, which are similar to the dwarf variety found in some places in Africa. (See both of those animals in our Trophy Gallery.) Card also managed to take a bearded pig but did not connect on mouse deer.
Two other Hunting Report subscribers also collected several species. Dean Grommett took both species of buffalo, a pig, several jungle cats and a Philippine sambar. He took the sambar from a blind over bedding and feeding areas. Grom- mett too sought a mouse deer and found tracks but could not get on one.
