Those new hunts in Ghana for royal antelope continue producing good reports. I have heard from yet another subscriber who hunted there with Steve Kobrine. Rex Baker was there in late April and reports taking two royal antelope in one night. (See photo in our Trophy Gallery.) "I had seven opportunities, four of those within three hours," he says. Baker was also after Maxwell duiker but says he missed his chance at one. He was also on the lookout for the very rare but present black duiker, which remained elusive. He recommends the experience as a great hunt for one of Africa's top trophies but he warns that excessive humidity can be somewhat challenging in Ghana. "Twenty minutes from the road you are soaked in sweat," he says. "Every hour you must wring a quarter cup of sweat from your headband. It is difficult to wear eye glasses because of the sweat and fog."
