New Number Two Mountain Nyala Taken in EthiopiaPublished: March - 2009 A new Number 2 mountain nyala hit the ground in Ethiopia this past November. Hunting Report subscriber and president of Sable Trail Productions Marc Watts took a 42-inch monster with 10½-inch bases. (See photo in Trophy Gallery section of our web site.) It green-scored 106, easily surpassing the former No. 2 nyala taken by subscriber Nicolas Franco and scoring 102 5/8 SCI. Watts hunted with Jason Roussos of Ethiopian Rift Valley in Damara. He says they spotted the trophy at 9,300 feet late in the day and had to return when they ran out of light. The final stalk involved climbing a U-shaped mountain cliff with a 10-inch-wide path and a 5,000-foot drop. You can read his entire account on his web site at www.sabletrailproductions.com....
