The safari operator selected to run the hunting program there is Johan Hermann of Rigby Big Game Safaris. He has received a limited quota for buffalo and elephant and must operate under a strict protocol that has been agreed to by the park and the community involved. All hunting is on foot, tracking the animals. Camp is limited to two hunters who may hunt 1 x 1.
Subscribers Steve Rogers and Mike Ambrose were the very first hunters in the concession. They give the experience a rave review as a destination for Cape buffalo. They each killed old dagga boys that would make even the most experienced African hunter salivate. Rogers took a bull that measured 47 inches wide and had a boss that went 17.5 inches. It's an old bull that has worn his tips down and started smoothing out his boss. Rogers' second bull polished his bosses flat to measure 15 inches, but the horns stretch the tape at 48 inches. Ambrose also took a great bull with a heavy boss and horns that measure 43 inches wide. All three buffalo are expected to score well in the record books.
