PHASA Targets Extortion At OR Tambo Airport In South AfricaPublished: December - 2008 PHASA (Professional Hunters Association of South Africa) has mounted a campaign to put an end to the extortion of traveling hunters at OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg. Specifically, they are targeting a practice by various airport officials/employees who extort money from traveling hunters to ensure their firearms are loaded onto their departing flights. Anyone accosted in this manner should get the name of the person involved, where the incident took place, the time, what flight the firearms were to be loaded onto and any other information that could help identify the guilty party. Pass all the details on to your safari operator or directly to PHASA, so they can take up the matter with the appropriate body. You can contact PHASA from the US.
