Reports of Theft By Airline Employees In South AfricaPublished: November - 2008 In South Africa, two subscribers have filed reports about theft by airline employees. Jack Hill says that on a flight from Johannesburg to Beira, Mozambique, an airline employee stole $1,500 from his carryon bag. The theft occurred because there was not enough space on the small plane for carryon luggage. As passengers boarded, they were asked to leave their bags on a small cart that would be loaded into the hold. Hill says his PH, who was accompanying him on the flight, also lost $1,000 to the thief. The flight was serviced by South African Air. And subscriber Mark Klapmeier warns fellow subscribers to be careful with their credit cards at airline service counters. He says he traced $15,000 in charges on his card back to SAA's check-in counter at Joburg....
