Three exceptional elephant were taken in Botswana last month. Seems PH Peter Holbrow of Holbrow Hunting Safaris has produced the new No. 1, 2 and 5 elephant there for the 2008 season. The largest came in at 159 pounds (76 x 83) and was taken in NG26 by a client who wishes to remain anonymous. The No. 2 elephant weighed in at 151 pounds total (79 x 72 pounds) and was taken by client Doug Leech. The new No. 5 weighs 143 pounds (71.66 x 71.66) and was taken by Johan Ahlberg.
As for Hunt Reports from returning subscribers, Gary Madden also killed a jumbo in Botswana. He reports taking a 70/63-pounder with Bottlepan Safaris in CH 12 on the eighth day of his hunt. And Lonny Kennett took an elephant in Tanzania that weighed 70/66 pounds after five days of hunting. He hunted MK1 with Pierre Van Tonder of Big Game Safaris.
