In Cameroon, Cam Greig tells us he has had his best year yet outfitting chasse libre (self-guided) foot safaris. His last hunter of the season wrapped things up nicely, taking a giant eland and a savannah buffalo. You can see photos of the trophies in the Trophy Gallery section of our web site. Greig says he is looking forward to an even better year in 2009 as he is in negotiations for a zone in the north that he can use as a permanent base. In anticipation of that he has purchased two vehicles to increase mobility. The deal was not done when Greig contacted us, but he was optimistic. He also has a new area for elephant. While he admits the jumbo there are not huge, he says the area allows him to offer a full hunt, including trophy fees for only $11,000.
Greig plans to speak at the Dallas Safari Club in November, and he says he will be available to speak afterward with hunters interested in his chasse libre program. He also hopes to have a booth at Dallas, FNAWS and SCI next year. Greig can be reached by e-mail.
