US Fish And Wildlife Service Bars CITES Trophy Imports From ArmeniaPublished: June - 2008 If you are booked on a hunt to Armenia or Bosnia, you should know that US Fish & Wildlife is not currently going to allow the import of CITES-listed animals from these countries. The reason is that Armenia and Bosnia have not provided the CITES Secretariat with information regarding their designated Management Authority and/or Scientific Authority, as required by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species. Such authorities must be deemed competent to make the required legal and biological findings in order to issue valid CITES documents. The importation of non-CITES species is not affected by this requirement.
