What are the chances of hunting actually opening? It's anyone's guess, but the Chinese operators we spoke with were optimistic. The government has drafted new hunting regulations that allow resident hunting and have publicized the benefits of sport hunting. That said, there is still public resistance to the idea. At least one person we spoke with thinks more public education and public relations needs to be done to prevent another outcry when the permit auction is announced later this fall. Another operator said the government is prepared to deal with public reaction this time around. We'll keep you posted....
