Anyone familiar with this part of the world knows that Unit 62 has produced some giant deer in the past. Some very nice bulls (340- to 350-class) have also been killed. Also, a bear can be killed at no additional cost, other than the proper tag. The ranch covers more than 100,000 acres and is surrounded by BLM leased property and national forest.
There are four cabins on the ranch available for rent (minimum group size is four). Each cabin is equipped with electricity and propane heat. They are all located on private land in the national forest and offer access to some of the best hunting without the heavy hunting pressure so common on public grounds. The two smaller cabins (which sleep four to five hunters) do not have hot water, while the larger cabins (sleeping up to 10 people) have that luxury. A walk-in cooler is also available at the main ranch. Hunters must provide their own 4 x 4 vehicles, all personal gear and food. Cookware, dishware and even a refrigerator and stove are provided with the cabin rental. Horses are also available for packing.
These cabins can be rented at very reasonable rates on a sliding scale, depending on the type of hunt. For example, a cabin can be rented for 11 days during the first archery season (August 25-September 4) for $1,000 per person, while a hunt for seven days during the last elk and deer combo season (November 3-9) costs........(continued)
