We immediately checked in with Nsok Safaris and received an e-mail from their attorney, Enrique Maestre. He says the company has been working closely with authorities in Cambodia to reopen hunting, but have not yet closed the deal. He promised to let us know when they do.
We also checked in with Harv Hollek of Hollek Co. International, who has also been working to open Cambodia. Hollek says that he too is awaiting the final decision by Cambodian authorities.
As for the species that are likely to be available to hunters, Hollek said to expect at least the same ones currently available on his hunts in Vietnam: Asian water buffalo, wild pigs, sambar deer, mouse deer and muntjac. For sure, we'll issue an E-mail Extra bulletin if Cambodian officials give Nsok or Hollek the green light.
