E-mail Extra subscribers have known since late November that the Tanzanian hunting community and the Government worked out a compromise on the 2007 fees shortly after our December issue went to press. The agreement calls for a fee increase this year of about 50 percent on concession fees and about 15 percent on trophy fees. A finalized fee schedule for 2007 had not been published by the Tanzanian Government at this writing in late December but was expected imminently. As soon as we receive a copy, we will post it to our web site.
As for 2008 fee increases, the agreement was so newly inked as we went to press we were asked not to release any details on it. All we were authorized to say is, the deal is acceptable to the hunting industry and should be acceptable to most clients. By the time you read this, details of the deal should have been released and passed along to E-mail Extra subscribers.
