Now, you can add hunt-booking to the roster of things that MUM does. Seems MUM principals Wayne and Gordon Long have announced that they are branching out into the world of high-end hunt bookings. Aware that the number of booking agents out there is legion, the Longs are quick to point out what they believe separates them from the rest. As experienced outfitters and wildlife managers, the Longs say they know what to look for to ensure they represent only the best of the best. To them, that means outfitters who practice habitat and wildlife management for long-term sustainability. This insight and level of understanding is something they say is missing in most booking agencies.
MUM has kicked off its booking agency business with two operations in the Pacific, namely Riverview Lodge in New Zealand and Territory Buffalo Safaris in Australia. Riverview Lodge is located on the South Island just north of Christchurch and offers what MUM says are true fair chase hunts for red stags and other species on a 20,000-acre property. Stags score anywhere from 280 to 330 SCI. There are also wild boar, wild rams, tahr and chamois, plus waterfowl. Non-hunting spouses and families can enjoy other activities through Riverview, including wine country tours, whale watching, spa visits and more. In Australia, MUM has inked an agreement with Brenton Hurt of Territory Buffalo Safaris to be his primary booking agent for his free-range water buffalo and banteng hunts.
Hurt is well-known for his quality hunts in the Northern Territory, where he is one of two operators authorized to hunt banteng on the Cobourg Peninsula. Additional species include scrub bull,........(continued)
