At this writing, Kern tells us that his legal team has filed three dismissal motions in Houston, and he expects the judge to grant his lawyers a hearing in November to argue their motions. He would not say what the dismissal motions are based upon. Whether the motions are granted or not, Kern says he and his lawyers are getting ready for trial, as he refuses to admit to something he did not do.
At this writing, Kern says supportive hunters have donated $50,000 to his defense fund, and that numerous other individuals and hunting groups have either made hefty pledges or inquired about doing so. I am most appreciative of those who have contributed, and will endeavor to be worthy of their trust, he told The Hunting Report.
Hunters who would like to make a contribution should send a check to the fund custodian, Kern's brother, David M. Kern. Checks should be made out to the Robert P. Kern Legal Expense Trust.
