Well, at this writing, it seems the two organizations have not been able to come to an amicable agreement, and a trial date has been set for the week of January 22, 2008. That's right before the two groups hold their annual conferences on overlapping dates. (See our 2008 Hunting Conventions Schedule on page 10 for details.)
The trial is scheduled to take place in Alabama Federal Court in Birmingham, where a jury will decide on seven specific counts of trademark and copyright infringement as well as breach of contract. In the meantime, the court has granted GSCO an injunction requiring FNAWS to use its name in conjunction with any of the disputed trademarks. The injunction will stay in effect until the trial. You can read the injunction on the GSCO web site. We'll keep you posted on how this works out.
