Bow Hunters Score On Mountain NyalaPublished: September - 2007 Remember my report in the July issue about subscriber Archie Nesbitt taking a mountain nyala with a bow in Ethiopia? The brute measured 36½ inches and had 11-inch bases, making it rank somewhere around No. 20 in the SCI Record Book. Well, a second subscriber has scored on mountain nyala with a bow. He's Adrian Erickson. He connected on a 36-inch nyala this past July while hunting with Jason Roussos of Ethiopian Rift Valley Safaris, the same PH who took Nesbitt afield.
Both subscribers deserve a round of applause. Erickson perhaps deserves a bit of extra applause for having also taken a bongo and giant eland with a bow recently. And, no, he did not allow the use of dogs to track his bongo. The PH for the bongo and eland hunts was Mike Currie with Club Faune.
