Another State Department WarningPublished: August - 2007 Zimbabwe: The US State Department has issued still another new Public Announcement, ratcheting up its warnings about travel to that southern Africa nation. You can read the announcement yourself by going to: Here at The Hunting Report, for legal reasons, I do not contradict or pooh-pooh US State Department announcements, but I can tell you on-the-ground reports do not suggest that any new threats have emerged in Zimbabwe. At this writing, seven new subscribers have just returned from 2007 safaris there, and the only trouble any of them reports is a brush with the law that resulted in a fine for riding in an car without a seat belt. The subscriber says he was issued a Zimbabwe dollar fine that amounted to .05 cents (US).
