Speaking of problems, that reopening of hunting in Nepal we told you about may be in real trouble. Seems Hunting Report subscriber Ed Yates flew all the way there in late April to go hunting only to spend nine days in a Kathmandu hotel waiting in vain to be issued a hunting license. On top of that, there appears to be a resurgence of Maoist rebel activities in the country, which has inspired the US State Department to issue a new Travel Warning strongly discouraging travel to Nepal. You can read the warning on our web site. Scroll down to Web Site Updates. Our own contacts verify that security has indeed gone off the rails in Nepal, and that the new warning is not just State Department blather.
We won't go into all the details about what happened on Yates' trip. Suffice it to say, everyone is very apologetic. Amends are being made. Other booked clients, at this point, have been postponed until this fall or next spring. We'll keep you posted on new developments.
