The new flight service is a once-a-week, non-stop flight from Anchorage to Petropavlovsk on the Kamchatka Peninsula, with a connection to Khabarovsk on the mainland of Eastern Russia. The published roundtrip fare is $2,340 for Business Class and $1,755 for Economy Class. That does not include taxes or service fees. Three agents have been approved to sell tickets: Red Star Travel, Business Assistance in Alaska and Trans Tours Center.
You'll recall we first told you about Dalavia Airlines picking up this route back in February, when the airline had announced a tentative plan to start flying in May, which would have been perfect for spring bear hunters. If you are booked for a hunt in eastern Russia late this summer or early fall, now is the time to book your direct flight.
