More On New Requierments For Passport

Subscribers who saw our report last month regarding new requirements for passports for all US citizens traveling to Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Bermuda and Central and South America should know that only valid, unexpired, passports will be accepted upon returning to the United States. A subscriber with an expired passport he has been using to get into and out of Canada called us and asked us to clarify that part of the new regulations. You'll recall the new passport requirements are part of what's called the US Government's Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative. Previously, travelers could use their birth certificate to prove citizenship when they traveled to and from these regions. The new passport requirement went into effect this month for all American citizens traveling by air to the above mentioned destinations. In January 2008, the Department of Homeland Security and Department of State expect to implement the same requirements for all persons traveling by land or sea. Be sure you take the necessary steps in time for upcoming hunts.
