The brouhaha over Air Canada and its proposed fee began, you'll recall, when we called for a international boycott of the company. That created a landslide of complaints, a handful of which were filed in a formal manner with the CTA. While those formal complaints are being considered, Air Canada has been directed to withhold imposition of the gun-handling fee.
It is impossible at this point to predict the outcome of this matter, but a layman's view of the kind of questions CTA is asking suggests that Air Canada may be in trouble with its decision to single out gun owners for a charge like this. For sure, we will stay on top of this for you. E-Mail Extra subscribers can count on receiving an e-mail when news breaks. For the record, if Air Canada is allowed to impose this fee and elects to do so, we plan to call for a resumption of the international boycott. Stay tuned.
