Seems this young Arizona outfitter (yes, he is a standard outfitter as well as a consultant) not only lives with the deer on a year round basis but tracks individual bucks throughout their lives. Monitoring the deer year round and collecting their sheds annually allows him to determine when each buck has reached its true trophy potential. The really exciting thing is, this outfitter will share what he knows with you... help you get drawn for a permit... and get you pointed in the right direction for an on-your-own hunt. All this costs under $1,000. And make no mistake, this guy puts clients on big deer. At this writing, he has helped five hunters take Coues deer that make the all-time B & C record book, and he himself has taken a #1 non-typical rifle buck (184 7/8 SCI, 159 B & C) and a #1 non-typical handgun buck (150 4/8 SCI, 129 2/8 B & C).
The outfitter is Dan King of King Guide Service, and when I first contacted him about his pre-scouted hunt package, I found him to be very personable and enthusiastic.
