This month, I'm going tell you about four lion outfitters who can put you onto a cat. They all hunt different regions and hunt in different ways. One of these guys should be right for just about any hunter.
I'll start with Marc Hubbard and his wife, Marcelb, of Okanagan Outfitters in British Columbia. Over the years, this outfit has placed a number of clients' cougars into the various record books. The Hubbards normally produce SCI quality cats for their clients, as well as the occasional B & C trophy three out of the top 10 entries in B & C and the No. 2 entry in SCI came from their camp. Last year, Okanagan Outfitters produced 12 cougars for clients. The Hubbards report killing six cats that weighed over 180 pounds.
Okanagan Outfitters' seven-day 1 x 1 hunts cost $6,600. If you also want to hunt for a bobcat or lynx, the cost is $8,470. There is a two-day wait period after purchasing the license and tag, but Okanagan Outfitters will obtain the license in advance of the hunt. The season extends from December 1 through February 15. Their hunting area is in mountainous, timbered and sometimes steep terrain, and the hunting is done from trucks and snowmobiles when tracking conditions are best in the snow. The Hubbards do not kill females, and they will allow clients to walk away from a treed lion they don't want.........(continued)
