The banned list, you'll recall, is a list of individuals and entities in Zimbabwe with whom American citizens cannot do business. One company that is particularly worrisome right now is HHK Safaris, which has become the target of the tabloid press in England because one of the principals of the company - or past principals according to some sources - is the father of Prince Harry's girl friend, Chelsea Davy. The fact that a member of the royal family is involved with the offspring of a hunting organizer, one that may or may not have dealings with banned individuals (Yes, England has its own banned list), has liberal reporters in London wild with rage. Combine that with hunger for gossip about the Royal Family and you have the perfect greased skids for the British press to sink to new lows.
An article that appeared last month in The Mail on Sunday is particularly troubling because it not only contains allegations that HHK is involved with banned individuals but also that it has been involved in hiding money from the government. Moreover, it accuses HHK of being racist, and does so in an inflammatory way. The article has touched off investigations against the company in Harare.........(continued)
