Well, an investigator from London by the name of David Purkiss tells us that he has made extensive inquiries into the problem and has not been able to find any connection between La Meridien and the outbreak of fraud. "The only reports of credit card fraud at the hotel have come from your group of hunters," he writes. "Extensive inquiries at the hotel have not shown any staff involvement. Moreover, none of the international credit card companies have suggested to us that the hotel is the point of compromise."
He goes on to say that he is continuing his investigation, but he does not expect to find a link between La Meridien and the fraud. He says victims of the fraud need to ponder what else they have in common other than staying in La Meridien. Indeed, that does raise an interesting question. Any suggestions out there...?
