The latest change to Carlson's hunts is, he has begun to house his clients in a beachside resort. Although the drive to the hunting areas from there is one to two hours, Carlson says the comfort of the air-conditioned lodging makes up for it. Meals are served in the resort restaurant. Jet skiing and snorkeling can be arranged on non-hunting days. Carlson still offers lodging in his jungle camp as well for those who want it.
Carlson says he has two openings left for January 14 - 30, 2006. He says this is a prime time to take big buffalo bulls because it is after the rains and the temperatures are very pleasant, keeping the buffalo at lower elevations. The package cost is $12,500, and that includes trophy fees for an Asian water buffalo, a wild boar and a bearded warty pig. Clients may take a second buffalo for an additional $1,200. A fit client should expect to collect two primary species with additional species collected as time allows. Most clients shoot three animals.
This is a 12- to 14-day itinerary with 10 hunting days in the field. The cost includes 1 x 1 hunting, meals, lodging, local spirits, use of a 4 x 4 and guide/trackers/skinners. Hides are prepared for shipment/dip and pack. All paperwork is processed for export. A representative will meet clients at the airport in Manila and return them at the end of the hunt. Not included is airfare to Manila or hotel stays before and after the hunt, although Carlson can arrange hotel reservations. Gratuities, extra trophy fees, shipment of trophies and additional days or........(continued)
