The downside to the move is the nearness of the new date to the date of the Safari Club International Convention in Reno. The latter starts on the 26th, and move-in day for exhibitors is the 25th. A number of would-be exhibitors, it seems, have had to pass on Global Sporting Expo because there is not enough time for them to move between shows. Also, the 23rd and 24th are a Sunday and a Monday - awkward days of the week to attend a convention.
"The change of date was a set-back," Encinas told The Hunting Report last month. But she then quickly added that she was undeterred in her effort to create a crème de la crème outdoor show. In that connection, she says she has already locked up prime dates and venues for shows in 2005 and 2006. "We're here to stay," she said.
If you would like to see who is exhibiting at the expo, go to their web site or talk to someone about the show by phone. We plan to be at Global Sporting Expo ourselves, not as an exhibitor but as a news organization interested in what is new in the hunting world.
