In that same part of the world, Hubert Planton is still looking for financial help from the hunting community in his effort to locate and pattern some of the remaining black rhino in Cameroon. Unfortunately, his original intention to enlist hunters in a darting safari have gone by the wayside due to local resistance. Now, all he can invite hunters to do is go with him in the forest on two-week observation trips. The trips are sure to be exciting, he says, and not without a hint of danger. The main appeal, though, is to hunters' conservation instincts. Black rhino in Cameroon are close to extinction. Anyone willing to help - pure donations are welcome, he says - is urged to contact him.
