Big Jumbo Taken In ZimbabwePublished: August - 2004 Over in Zimbabwe have we received word from Bob Kern of The Hunting Consortium that a big jumbo was taken last month weighing 81 x 77 pounds. The lucky client was Abigail Day of London, who was hunting with Russ Broom, of Russ Broom Safaris in the Monjolo concession, which borders the Chizarira National Park. We are told the ivory is very symmetrical and measures 6½ feet. You may have heard initial rumors that the jumbo was initially judged a 90-pounder. Unfortunately, rather large nerves left it at the 80-pound mark, which of course is still a very good trophy.
