Update On EthiopiaPublished: March - 2004 Those plans we told you about last year to open hunting in South Sudan have been put off for a year. We have that from everyone involved: Ethiopian safari operator, Tom Mattanovich; and Doug Scandrol of Swanepoel & Scandrol.
Still in Ethiopia, those reports making the rounds at the Safari Club International Convention about civil strife in Gambella appear to have been greatly overblown. There were indeed skirmishes there recently, but nothing serious enough to delay the reopening of this once-famous hunting area. In fact, at this writing, we are anxiously awaiting a report on the first hunt there from Hunting Report subscriber Rex Baker. ........(continued) |
