Golabchi reports taking his monster ram with Yuri Matison of Badakshan Expeditions in the Murgab region of Tajikistan. In fact, Golabchi says this is the eighth 60-plus-inch Marco Polo he has taken with Matison, including his previous World Record trophy. He says he hunted the sheep on foot about 10 miles out of camp at an elevation of 12,500 feet.
Golabchi tells us he has hunted with Matison so much that he has become a friend and books direct with him. Matison is represented in the United States by The Trophy Connection and Americana Expeditions.
