This past month we received an unconfirmed report that the safari industry in Uganda is about to take off. We have not been able to reach anyone yet in a position of authority, but the word we have is, two (maybe three) full-blown safari areas will be opened. We are digging on this story now, and will have more facts before the important hunting conventions come around.
In the meantime, as we have reported previously, there is already a small hunting operation in Uganda, in the far southern end of the country bordering Lake Mburo National Park. The operator is Rogers Matama of Game Trails Uganda. Stay tuned for an update on this country.
